For child accounts we collect as little data as possible (data minimisation) — in particular no real surnames, no location data and no external contact details of the child, unless expressly required for a function.

4Processing of minors' data#
4.1 Zenz family is aimed at families; child accounts are created and managed exclusively by a person with parental responsibility.
4.2 By creating a child account, the legal guardian confirms that they are entitled to consent to the processing of the child's data pursuant to Art. 8 GDPR.
4.3 No data on children are collected beyond what the functions require — in particular no data for advertising purposes, no profiling for marketing, and no sale of data to third parties.
4.4 Legal guardians may request information about the data in a child account at any time and arrange for its erasure.
5Disclosure to third parties / processors#
Data are passed on to third parties only where this is necessary to operate the app, e.g. to:
- Hosting/cloud provider: Noris AG, Munich East data centre (MUC), Germany
- Push notification service: Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google Ireland Limited, Ireland)
Data processing agreements (Art. 28 GDPR) are in place with all processors, or will be concluded. Where data are transferred to third countries (e.g. the USA), appropriate safeguards (e.g. EU standard contractual clauses) are ensured.
Data are not sold to third parties.
6Retention period#
- Account data are stored for as long as the account exists.
- After the family account is deleted, personal data is erased within one day, unless a statutory retention obligation applies.
- Technical log data is rotated regularly and deleted automatically after 90 days at the latest.
7Rights of data subjects#
Users, or their legal guardians, have the right to:
- access (Art. 15 GDPR)
- rectification (Art. 16 GDPR)
- erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
- restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
- object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21 GDPR)
- lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR); the competent authority is the Bavarian Data Protection Authority (Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht, BayLDA), Promenade 27, 91522 Ansbach, Germany

8Data security#
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures (including encryption of data transmission and access restrictions) to protect the data against unauthorised access, loss or manipulation.
9Cookies / tracking#
The app and this website currently use no tracking or advertising cookies. Only technically necessary data are processed in order to provide the functions.
10Changes to this privacy policy#
We update this privacy policy whenever the processing of data or the legal situation changes. The version in force at any time is available in the app.
